Welcome to the BCCA 2013 National Specialty
September 28 - October 4, 2013
Gray Summit, Missouri
The BCCA 2013 National Specialty Committee and the BCCA Board welcome you! We are especially excited to be hosting the 2013 National at Purina Farms, site of our biannual Beardie Camp. Here, all on one site, you'll be able to take part in all of the usual Specialty activities — ranging from herding and other competition activities to the meetings and banquets — without having to leave Purina Farms!
Purina Farms is located approximately 40 miles west of St. Louis, MO. The city is serviced by two international airports. The site is located on 350 acres and features an indoor Events Center, multiple Outdoor Competition fields, and over 110 RV parking spaces.
Because all of our events are taking place at Purina Farms, we will not be using a single host hotel. You may choose to make reservations at any of the local hotels nearby, or rent an RV and park it right at Purina Farms! The RV parking closest to the Event Center includes full-service hookups with electricity, water, and sewer. There are vendors who will drive and park the RV for you — so all you have to do is move in!
Opening Ceremonies on Tuesday
The conformation portion of the Specialty will begin on Tuesday, immediately following Obedience and Rally, in the Conformation Ring at the Event Center. There will be fun and surprises, so be sure to come by!
We have the judging programs for agility and for conformation/OB/rally, plus the run order with armband numbers for herding. You can view them here, or you can view the conformation/obedience/rally program on Foy Trent Dog Shows' website.
Real-Time Show Results
This year, we'll be posting real-time show results on a Facebook page called BCCA 2013 Specialty Results. You do have to be on Facebook to join. Ask for an invite, or get a friend to add you. Results are not private; you can share them anywhere. We just wanted to keep from clogging the news feed unnecessarily.
Annual Meeting Agenda
The Agenda and Special Rules of Order for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) are posted on the Annual Meetings page.
Watch the Show on Live Streaming!
Dog Show Video Pros, the show videographer, is offering streaming video from ringside at all conformation events. For more information about pricing and how to get the video, see the Photo/Video page.
The Top 20 Invitational will not be broadcast on live streaming for technical reasons. (It's being held in the banquet area, and the broadcast cannot transmit through the glass.) The Top 20 will be available for purchase tomorrow as recorded video.
If you missed the informational email with the last-minute rules and reminders, here they are.
Volunteers Still Needed!
The agility, obedience, and rally trials depend on volunteers to keep the rings running smoothly. Please contact Cheri Omnus if you would like to help with agility on Monday, September 30th and Laurie Lo if you can help on Tuesday morning, October 1st with obedience or rally.
Some of the jobs that need to be done are described on the Help Wanted page. There are many other areas throughout the Specialty that would really benefit from your help. Please have a look and volunteer to help!
